Introduction-Danielle Hackett
Hello everyone! My name is Danielle Hackett. I live in Masury, Ohio with my husband and our three children. I hold an Ohio PreK-3 teaching license and a Pennsylvania K-6 teaching license. I obtained my bachelor's degree in elementary education from Thiel College in 2010 and I have been substitute teaching on and off since then. I was waiting until our last child started kindergarten, which was last year, to pursue a full-time teaching position and/or start my graduate courses. So here I am! I chose to pursue special education because I feel it is an area that I need the most to help me to be the best teacher as possible to all of the students in my classroom. My degree will be Intervention Specialist Mild-Moderate. I am very excited to continue my education and am happy to be doing it at YSU.

Welcome Danielle! I agree with your realization and desire to get your masters degree in special education to help you as a regular classroom teacher. General Ed teachers are faced with so many challenges in the classroom today and haven't been educated to meet those needs. That is what brought me to the program.
ReplyDeleteHi Danielle! I think it is awesome that you have chosen to take the special education route in order to better help your students. I'm sure you are a great teacher! My undergraduate degree is in Psychology, so I feel a bit like a fish out of water myself. I have to say that I am very excited to be getting into something new!

DeleteHello Danielle! I think that it is awesome that you have your teaching license for both Ohio, as well as Pennsylvania. I could not agree with you more, this program will most certainly help you accommodate and meet the needs of all learners in your classroom!
