Hello class! My name is Corey Creamer, I have lived in the
Youngstown area my entire life. I currently hold my Integrated Social Studies
license as well as my temporary Special Education license. I am in the
Intervention Specialist program, mild-moderate. Although, I teach currently at
an online school, this will be my first experience taking an online course. At
my current job, I write IEP’s, plan for ETR’s, work on transition programs, evaluate
IEP performance goals, and tutor my students on a daily basis. I am looking
forward to working with other teaching professionals, and getting to know all
of you along the way.
Hi Corey! After having read your introduction I'm very impressed. I can't imagine teaching online. This whole online experience is very overwhelming to me and the thought of teaching this way is crazy. I'm looking forward to working with you!
ReplyDeleteHi, Corey. I am an Early Childhood major but got hired to teach special ed at my school. I have taught this class of 12 students for the last 5 years doing the same things as you: writing IEPS, sitting in on ETRs, and lesson planning according the IEP. I was in a foreign world when I got hired there. Now I am confident in what I do, but since education changes so much I really wanted to dive further into some unknowns in special education to best help my students.
ReplyDeleteI never understood what the purpose was for online schooling, and I am still not sure. Is the online schooling just running a classroom only online or is there specific deadlines students have so they can work at their own pace?
ReplyDeleteHello, Corey. I couldn't imagine teaching an online class to a group of special education students. Along with instructing the students, but planning and writing IEP's for these students not having any physical interaction with these students. I give you lots of props! Not having taken classes online before and seeing your experience with teaching online I am sure you will enjoy taking online courses.
