Hello!
I am Alexa Kamovitch and I am from Howland, Ohio. During these next few semesters, I will be participating in the Intervention Specialist- Mild/ Moderate graduate program . I recently accepted a full-time position as a Kindergarten to third grade Intervention Specialist at Weathersfield Local School District. My professional responsibilities will include providing the developmentally appropriate accommodations and modifications to meet my students needs. I will be working with students who have many different disabilities including Autism, ADHD, and Learning Disabilities. I will also be in charge of my students' IEPS and working with them to meet their individual goals. SPED 6900 is my first graduate and online course, however; I am well-versed with technology. Working with students who have special needs is a brand new experience for me and I am very eager to get started and expand my knowledge in the field of Special Education!
Alexa, I hope all is going well with your new job. I applaud your efforts to be a great influence on children at such a young age. I look forward to getting to know you while we take our first online graduate course together.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new job! You have a very important role as an intervention specialist in the early grades, making sure all students stay on track for future grades. As far as taking online classes, I've learned making a calendar for myself when things are due helps me stay on track.
ReplyDeleteAlexa,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new job! Your K-3 students will love your energy. Even though it will be a brand new experience for you, your graduate classes will build your knowledge so you can help your students. Good luck!
