Anthony,
I found
your paper very informative and interesting, especially the beginning where it
states how McCollogh v. Maryland was interpreted to include children with
disabilities. In the 1800’s many of these children were being placed in asylums
or hospitals and hidden from the world. I did not really think there was a
movement until around the 1950’s or 60’s when the civil rights movements were
then used to gain footing for these children.
As I did
my research on early intervention, many stated that it was important for the
children to be included in regular classrooms and children. Being around the neurotypical child will
assist with behavior modification and learning by observation. It will also
assist all of the neurotypical children to be more accepting of the differences
in each other as you stated in your research paper.
Your
questions were very thought provoking. I only wish that they were not as
clearly labeled in the paper. I would have liked to have seen if I could answer
them by reading the paper.
I enjoyed
your paper. It was easy to read and had information that I would not have
considered. Thank you for sharing.
