Hello, my name is Abby, and this is my first semester back to school in about nine years. I have not taken an online class before, so I am open to suggestions on being a successful online student. I currently work full time as a research analyst, specifically working with property tax research. I am pursuing a Master's in Education-Special Education, working with mild/moderate students.
I am looking to change professions to become a teacher. I became interested in working with special needs children while coaching. I have been coaching basketball and golf for the past five years, and I absolutely love it. I am excited to be going back to school to pursue a career that I am passionate about.
Abby, I think it's wonderful that you are switching careers towards something you are passionate about. Sometimes different life experiences (like your coaching) can direct us to careers that maybe we never had considered in the past. It shows great drive to actually act on it. Life is really too short to spend our time doing things that really don't excite or energize us. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteAbby, much like you it took coaching to focus my interest toward teaching. I'm glad someone else had the same feelings after coaching, and I'm nuts for switching my career path. Looking forward to working with you!
ReplyDeleteThe best thing to do with online classes is to not forget about them. Check email, and any sites associated with them daily even if you do not have time to actually do something it will refresh in your mind what you have due and keep you on track.
